I found a photograph taken and printed in the late 1980s or early 1990s in the village where my studio is located. It had aged in a hidden locker, sheltered from sunlight. In 2020, I attempted to create a work that absorbed the animistic power of the area. It was buried in the soil of various locations and exposed to the wind and rain. It became something that found its place a bit removed from chemistry and technology.

I remember the gulf war fighting night camera I watched on TV when I was young. In Japan, the animistic religion that "the sun is watching no matter what you do" still remains. I was often told when I was a child. The sun was precious to Japanese farmers. I digitally photographed my dog at night using infrared light, and applied a technique for making daylight photos to expose it to a projector. I have worked for a farmer. I harvested tomatoes and cucumbers from 4 am and took care of the paprika in a plastic greenhouse at a temperature close to 50 ° C from noon. Vegetables are now efficiently produced in factories without waste. Does not require labor or the natural environment. A human who has created the function of the sun and no longer needs the sun. And we want to keep creatures that need the sun in our garden.
